Trizon Vet Injection is used to treat various infections caused by susceptible organisms, including respiratory tract infections, acute bacterial otitis media, skin and skin structure infections, urinary tract infections, bone and joint infections, bacterial septicemia, and intra-abdominal infections.
Ceftriaxone, the active ingredient in Trizon Vet, is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, making it bactericidal. It is highly stable against various bacterial enzymes.
Trizon Vet is administered intravenously or intramuscularly and the dose varies depending on the animal's size. Large animals, calves, goats, dogs, and cats each have their recommended dosage.
Trizon Vet may interact with medications like cefoxitin and should be used cautiously with loop diuretics.
It should not be given to patients with a history of hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics.
Possible side effects include hypersensitivity reactions, fever or chills, changes in blood parameters, diarrhea, and more.
Use during pregnancy and lactation should be carefully considered.
Prolonged use may lead to the overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, and appropriate measures should be taken if superinfection occurs.
Depending on the injection type (intramuscular or intravenous), Trizon Vet is reconstituted with either lidocaine hydrochloride or water for injection.
Store at a maximum of 25°C. Reconstituted solutions are stable for a limited time, depending on storage conditions.
